Delhi Alliance Church Leadership

PASTOR BRETT

Pastor Brett came to Delhi Alliance in September of 2014. He spent much of his adult life in various positions involving retail sales. His pursuit of Jesus led him to a career change. He graduated from Crown College in 2006 and started his first ministry position that same year. After eight years as an associate pastor in southwestern Iowa, Brett and his family answered the call to pastor our church here in Delhi.

ROSS GILL - ELDER

Ross moved to Delhi over 30 years ago where he lives with his wife, Athena, who was born here. Together they have 3 sons, 4 grandchildren, and 3 dogs. Prior to living in Delhi, Ross and Athena were part of a church plant in Oregon. Ross has served as a church elder, assistant pastor, and church teacher. Ross worked in Delhi for a title insurance agency for many years and now works remotely in the same industry.  

Ross and Athena have been attending Delhi Alliance for over 5 years where he serves as a Sunday School teacher and elder.

PAUL HILLIS - ELDER

Paul Hillis is the husband of Julie Hillis. Born and raised in Delhi, Paul started attending Delhi Alliance when he was a young child and has actively participated in the church ever since. He has held many different positions in the church that have included helping with the Youth Ministry, Deacon, Trustee and being an Elder. In 2006, he and Julie were married and they have 4 school aged children.

JEFF KNAPP - ELDER

Jeff grew up in Delaware County and currently lives in Bloomville. He has an amazingly supportive wife, Indea, a son, Gideon and a daughter, Phoebe. Delhi Alliance Church has been a part of him since he was a small child. Throughout his years at Delhi Alliance Church Jeff has played many roles. He is an active participant on the worship team playing the acoustic guitar. He and Indea teach our elementary Sunday School, and Jeff helps with our Vacation Bible School. Jeff is very excited to see what God has in store for him and our church during this chapter of his life.

BRIAN KUHNAU - ELDER

Brian and his wife, Tricia, moved to Hobart in 2018 and they have attended Delhi Alliance ever since. Brian has served in Vacation Bible School and as a Deacon, and currently assists in Youth Group and as an Elder. His desire is for our church "to spur one another on to love and good deeds." (Hebrews 10:24)

Brian works as a project manager at Pusterla, the box factory in Oneonta. He enjoys spending time with his wife, hiking, gardening, and other activities outside.

BOB SOHNS - ELDER

Bob has lived in the Delhi area most of his life, and graduated from Delaware Academy. He currently lives in Oneonta and works as a District Manager for a food company. Bob has been married to Dawn for 30 years and they have two beautiful children, Braxton and Briena. Bob and Dawn have been members of Delhi Alliance Church since 2011. 

Bob currently serves on our leadership team as an Elder. This is a position he has held for the past 7 years. He has been part of Vacation Bible School and also attends our Men’s Bible study. Bob is looking forward to many great things that God and Delhi Alliance Church has to offer.

BEVERLY (HONEY BEE) TUTHILL - DM DIRECTOR

Beverly (better known as Miss Honey Bee) grew up in, and still lives in, Treadwell, New York. She has worked as a Special Education teacher with preschool children at the ARC of Delaware County for almost 45 years. 

Honey Bee has been attending Delhi Alliance Church for over 25 years. This church has become her family and has been a blessing to her all these years. She loves our kids and works with our students from nursery up through college. She teaches Sunday School, Jr Church, and helps with our summer Vacation Bible School program. Honey Bee also serves as the Director of our Disciple Making Ministry Team, and serves on our Governing Board. She loves Delhi Alliance Church because this is a place where she feels loved and safe. God is so good.

JULIE HILLIS - HEAD DEACON/ESS

Juliane Hillis is the wife of Paul Hillis and is Head Deacon. Julie and Paul met at Delhi Alliance in the early 2000’s and were later married in 2006. They have 4 school aged children: Steven, Liam, Amelia and Laura. Julie is an aide at Delaware Academy during the school year. She also is the Haven Camp Director for Delta Lake, serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Julie also sings on the Worship team at Delhi Alliance Church.

EVAN COOK - TREASURER

Evan is proud to serve Delhi Alliance Church as Treasurer. Having grown up going to Delhi Alliance, he is thankful to be back and serving in a leadership role. Evan, his wife Alexis, and their three boys feel blessed to have Delhi Alliance and its congregation as their church family.

KEVIN SCHERER - HEAD TRUSTEE

Kevin is the Head Trustee. He has been married to Sarah for over 20 years and she is also very active in Delhi Alliance Church women’s ministry and in the local community. They have a daughter, Joanna, who is in high school at Delaware Academy and active in soccer and Youth Group here at Delhi Alliance Church. Kevin grew up in Wisconsin, just south of Green Bay. They call themselves the “rolling stones” as they have lived in IL, MN, OH, MN, WI and most recently moved to NY for a career opportunity for Kevin in 2018. They have been members at Delhi Alliance Church since 2019. Kevin has been an active Trustee since 2019 and an active board member for the trustees since 2020.
